It's the simple things in life....

I try to live a simple life...taking pleasure in the small things. Speaking of the small things....these are a few things that I either consistently buy, or have recently discovered. 


1. White Barn Candle Company's 3-wick candles. I am currently trying the Mint Chocolate scent. It sounds weird, I know.....and I definitely don't usually go for the "food-type" candles, but this one is my only exception. I really enjoyed it tonight while chilling on the couch after a long day at work.

2. This next item is something I recently picked up at Target on a whim and I've really enjoyed it so far. I am not the person who thinks that the only cosmetics/beauty products that are good are the ones that you pay a fortune for at a department store. Now I do admit that there are a FEW things that I will pay practically an arm and a leg for, but most of my beauty products can be found at your local drugstore or Target(my favorite store by far). Anyways, this is one of those items.....Aveeno's Smart Essentials Face Wash. I LOVE it. It is one of those face washes that you can put it all over and not worry about it drying out your face or leave makeup behind. I definitely get that "squeaky-clean" feeling after using it!

3. Finally, the last item I have recently fallen in love with is Ulta's Glitterati Eye Shadow Pallete. I picked this up as a little extra Christmas present for some of my girlfriends. It was on sale the day I was in Ulta so I decided to pick one up myself.....and I am so glad I did! I am loving these colors! They blend really well and look really natural.

All of these items I bought for $10 or less and I use them almost everyday. For me....simple and thrifty is best!! :0)

Meet my little family....

I never really thought of myself as the blog-type. I have been reading other people's blogs for years, but never really thought I had enough to talk about to keep a blog myself. Well, it's a new year, so time to try new things. Soooo...here it is......my own little blog.

Nic & I have been dating since early 2007....almost 4 years. I can't believe it.

Meet our little "child", Millie. She is definitely my comic relief. She keeps me laughing.

I begged Nic for a puppy for a loooong time before he reluctantly gave in. I think Millie has won him over. They are absolutely best buds.

There is another member of my little family....Marie. She is my nearly 7 year old siamese mix little kitty. Marie is definitely one of those weird kitties that targets the people that are not cat people and decides to SMOTHER them with affection. That can get interesting sometimes.

When I'm not at home with the furry children, I am a Medical Assistant to a Pediatric Endocrinologist in Bartlett, TN. I love my job. It was a blessing to be able to have the opportunity to be a MA while I am working on finishing up my BSN. I am so blessed to be able to work with such a great doctor. He has been practicing for 30+ years.

Besides work, I LOVE to decorate(and re-decorate) my little place I am always moving furniture around (which REALLY annoys Nic).

I also love to read, cook, sew, ebay, etc....  I am pretty much a home-body. I love the thought of staying in PJs all day, pouring your favorite cup full of coffee, and opening a good book.

I think that is all for today. This was fun. I think I like it. Maybe I am the blog-type after all. :0)
